Arizon Digital Case Study  :  Cuts Metal

Engineering a Seamless Transition to Modern eCommerce for B2B & B2C Diamond Plate Orders

Cuts Metal is a dual-channel business serving both retail consumers and wholesale buyers with custom-cut diamond plate sheets in a wide range of sizes, finishes, and weights. With a growing customer base and a uniquely configured product catalog, their eCommerce operations required both flexibility and performance.

Originally built on a legacy BigCommerce Blueprint theme, their storefront faced immediate risk due to the platform’s scheduled sunset of the checkout system in 30 days. The business needed a fast, dependable transition to a modern solution—without compromising customer experience or backend processes.

Why Cuts Metal Chose Arizon Digital

Cuts Metal selected Arizon Digital for our proven ability to deliver under pressure, our consultative approach, and our deep platform expertise. What stood out was our ability to not only execute fast, but to ask the right questions up front and ensure that every solution was aligned to their operational needs and customer expectations. With our proven record on technical innovation and business optimization, Arizon provided the strategic partnership that Cuts Metal needed for their long-term digital growth.

The Challenges  :  Rebuild and Launch a New Headless Experience with no Disruption

  • Urgent Timeline  :  Cuts Metal faced a critical platform deadline, requiring a complete rebuild of their site architecture and customer workflows. The entire transition to a headless experience had to be completed in under four weeks.
  • Blueprint framework  :  The website lacked modern UI/UX features and was increasingly limited in performance, mobile responsiveness, and maintainability.
  • Customer Data Migration  :  With over 35,000 customer records spanning B2B and B2C,the migration needed to preserve account data, purchase history, customer groups, and personalized pricing visibility—while also supporting guest checkout and email-based sign-ups.
  • 3rd-Party Integration Requirements  :  Cuts Metal relied on external tools for essential site functions. Their blog content was managed via a 3rd-party importer/exporter, while RaveCapture powered customer image galleries. These tools had to be fully supported and seamlessly integrated into the new Store.

The Solution  :  Replatforming with Catalyst's Flexible Architecture

We led a rapid migration to BigCommerce Catalyst (headless) architecture, re-engineering the Cuts Metal site on a modern stack while preserving core B2B and B2C functionality. We ensured seamless continuity in customer experience and backend operations by rebuilding the site experience.

Key Features implemented  :

  • One-Page Checkout  :  Intuitive navigation optimized for speed and reduced friction .
  • Enhanced “My Account” Dashboard  :  Included order history, account credit, messaging, saved addresses, and recent item tracking.
  • B2B & B2C Segmentation  :  Migrated over 35,000 customer records while preserving customer groups, pricing tiers, and purchase history. Login gating allowed business users to access tailored content and pricing.
  • Improved Site speed with quick image load  :  Fast-loading PLP with variable sizes, cuts, and finishes and optimized PDP with customized size/shade/quantity.
  • Cart-Level Promotions  :  Complete transactions with minimal step including Built-in logic to support promotional SKUs (e.g., free item on orders over $750), directly integrated into the cart and checkout experience.
  • Preserved 3rd-Party Integrations  :  Successfully migrated all content managed via To be Blog importer and ensured RaveCapture integration continued to support user-generated gallery content.

Results  :  Successfully Replatformed to Catalyst

  • Met Time-sensitive upgrade deadline  :  Rebuilt the entire site architecture and workflows and launched a new headless experience—all within 3 weeks avoiding legacy checkout deprecation and enabling modern scalability.
  • Data Migration & Customer Continuity  :  Successfully migrated a customer base of 34,000+ from the legacy system while preserving account-level preferences and enabling optional guest checkout with auto-fill on returning login. We also included newsletter opt-ins directly at checkout for better post-purchase engagement.
  • Streamlined 3rd Party Integrations  :  Key external tools were carried forward to the new storefront. RaveCapture integration enabled 3rd-party image capture and display for customer galleries. Legacy blog content and product review was also ported and seamlessly integrated into the new architecture.

The Business Value

  • Delivered in 3 Weeks  :  Successfully replatformed to Catalyst under a 30-day deadline, avoiding legacy checkout deprecation and enabling modern scalability.
  • Improved Conversions  :  One-page checkout, simplified product options, and intuitive navigation led to a faster path to purchase for both new and returning customers.
  • Reduced Friction  :  Guest checkout, PayPal integration in cart, and dynamic shipping logic ensured a smooth checkout experience across devices.
  • Operational Efficiency  :  Headless architecture and flexible content control future-proofed the business while reducing reliance on rigid templates and outdated systems. Streamlined post-login experiences and self-serve access to past orders, credits, and account updates for business customers.
